Configuring Product and Location QA Checks

QA checks refer to quality assurance assessments and inspections carried out to ensure products meet the required safety and quality standards. These checks encompass various aspects of the food industry, such as ingredient specifications, supplier compliance, and product quality, contributing to enhanced food safety and regulatory compliance.
1. Product Categories
Note: Need to know more about products? See the Adding a New Product article for more information.
Use this screen to add and edit your product categories.
- Select the "QA Checks Set-up" tab in the menu.
- The Edit button will allow you to adjust Product Categories.
- Once you've chosen the Product Category you'd like to edit, a set of options will appear at the bottom of the window:
- The system will automatically fill in the product category information.
- If necessary, you can insert a new row to adjust the details; refer to the category detail information below for guidance.
- Remember to click Save when you're done.
1.1. Product Category Fields
The table below explains what each field means while editing Product Categories:
| Category Detail | Description |

| Category Name | The name of the product category i.e. Dry Goods, Dairy, Fresh Herbs etc. |
| Product Type |
Select the Product Types relevant to this category:

| Sub-category | A Sub-category may be needed if the category requires further breakdown. For example, you could break down Dry Goods to Starches. |
| Sub-sub-category | A Sub-sub-category may be needed if the category and sub-category requires further breakdown. For example, you could break down Starches into Wheat and Corn. |
2. Add a New Product Category
- Select "Add a New Product Category".
- Scroll down to below the category list.
- Enter your new Product Category Name, in this example it's Vegetables.
- Select the Product Type.
Note: Please refer to the Product Category Fields table above for guidance.
- If a Sub-category is required Add New Rows as needed and fill in the field. In this example Vegetables is broken down into Root.
- If a Sub-sub-categorised if required, Add New Rows as needed and fill in the fields. In this example, Root is broken down into Carrot, Potato and Onion.
3. Locations
Use this screen to add locations to complete checks at different stages in your process.
- Select "Add/Edit Locations".
- Select Edit.
- Fill in the location fields as needed and use the Add New Row function if you need more locations.
- To remove any locations, use the Delete button .
- Click Save once you've finished.
